Someone pinch me. Mimi and Mama’s version of “Eurotrip” has officially commenced! We departed an extremely warm start to spring in Aus to arrive to a strangely warm autumn in Paris…and the journey in getting here was an adventure in itself. I’m currently struggling to comprehend how I’ll ever manage to fly economy again. I think the visual evidence below is enough to communicate why…
Verve on arrival, endless wine and cocktails, 4 courses of succulent duck, sweet and sour cod, rich white chocolate and raspberry mousse cake, and tea, coffee and Godiva chocolates. Followed by lie flat beds, sleep mattresses, noise cancelling headsets and Bvlgari amenity kits. Waking to breakfast of light muesli, creamy yoghurt, croissants and an incredible assortment of fresh fruit and moving on to more continental breakfast, more wine, superb seared tuna, veal cutlets and soy pannacotta with fresh brewed cappuccinos to finish. Business class Emirates (especially their A380 service!) – is truly heaven at 30,000ft up.
So here we are. Over the next 4 weeks watch this space and expect a bombardment of Parisienne style and simplistic to-die-for flavours, French countryside culture, Spanish fiestas fuelled by serious sangria finishing off with some London Town escapades (hello high street and the royal family).
Serious shopping, eating and tourist-ing awaits and my stomach simply cannot wait…although my bank card (the amazing Velocity Global Wallet membership card that lets you Points on everything and anything – from a banana crepe to a Chanel 2.55) is probably shaking in its boots at the thought of the thrashing it is about to receive. Cest la vie!
