Whilst packing for this trip I made a conscious effort to channel my inner Parisian. As such, every morning during our stay I would prep my OOTD (“outfit of the day” for those instagram novices) with the aim of stepping out the front door of our adorable Marais first floor studio looking like a local. I could at least pretend…until I opened my mouth and attempted communicating in French. Alors.
Stepping out in ballet flats
This outfit of Otto Mode trousers, White Elephant striped tee, Cue blazer, Whistles tortoise-shell sunglasses, Zomp ballet flats and my Italian leather bag was perfect for meandering around the Marais.
Crepes in stripes
Sunday is market day in Bastille, so I pulled together Zara pants and sweater with a Pigeonhole striped shirt and accessorised with my Whistles sunglasses, Italian leather bag, Tiffany&Co. key necklace and WeWood watch.
Sights and the Seine
Midweek of our Paris stay, the weather took a slight turn and required some warmer layers, which resulted in MNG black jeans paired with Zu cubans and a vintage brown belt (courtesy of my father – cheers Dad) with a Zara striped sweater under a wrapped Hermès silk scarf and my beloved Leather Cargo jacket, finished with a local souvenir shop MJ style hat purchased the day before.
Layers and opulence
This look was specially pulled for a day at Versailles. It was cold and required my warmest clothes. Fortunately, I had just purchased a gorgeously versatile trench (which I secured accordingly, which you can read about here) and wore it with a wool Kookai sweater and leather jacket underneath, Zu boots, Zara camel trousers and my rouge merino and possum fur scarf.
Which outfit is your favourite? Would love to hear more thoughts on the ideal Parisienne wardrobe!
