Need a last minute cocktail frock for that work function you forgot about? Want to update the ‘drobe but hate battling crowds and horrifically lit change rooms? Want to copy the latest street style looks as seen on fashion bloggers around the world?
Say hello to your saving grace, threads and style, the latest online boutique for all the latest trends and looks. Stocking mostly local Australian labels (think Shona Joy, Bebe Sydney and Blessed are the Meek) plus some killer one off accessories sourced from overseas and sold under the eponymous label threads it’s a fabulous array of price points and styles and caters for those wanting to shop from casual to corporate to cocktail. The best part? It’s Queensland born and bred. threads director Claire is all about offering accessible fashion at affordable prices and offers styling to boot, dressing some big name TV personalities like Bec Judd, Liz, Shelly Horton and Emma Mullings. She’s also done collabs with super-bloggers Nikki Phillips and Lisa Hamilton from See Want Shop (one of my Instagram faves!).
So when I was asked to shoot the latest looks for this exciting new online shopping destination I jumped at the opportunity. What girl in their right mind wouldn’t want to spend a blissful sunny Brisbane day playing dress up and pick up styling tips as a bonus?! I was well looked after too, keeping hydrated with chilled limewater and lunching on delicious Prawn Gyoza with chilli soy dipping sauce…who said food and fashion don’t mix?
Here are my top picks from the shoot! You can shop all the looks now over at threads and style.com.au. Sign up to their newsletter as well so you’re in the know when they have their sales (which are epic FYI…you can sometimes pick up the latest hot-off-the-runway trend for less than the price of a tank of petrol) or check out their blog for tips, tricks, advice and the latest looks.
