Once again as we enter another year, I look back on the year that has been – from wonderful travels, new experiences and cherished memories to times of personal challenges, growth and self-learning.
Last year when I reflected on 2013 I listed what I was most grateful for. Re-reading this post and it seems not much has changed. I am still incredibly lucky to have an amazing family whom I love dearly and can count on for unconditional support, inspiring grandparents who are also hilarious, beautiful friends both new and old in Brisbane and Adelaide, two homes (equally loved) set 2000 kilometres apart, as well as all the fabulous, delicious, new and exciting experiences that have come about as a result of this little blog.
Mimi Must Try has been a creative outlet, an online diary and a personal journal – something that has forged new relationships and created new opportunities. But like many passions, hobbies or pursuits, as life gets in the way and we feel pulled in a million different directions it often suffers from the “I don’t have time” excuse. However, I have finally come to the realisation that in striving for perfection I’m sacrificing progress. MMT it’s an ongoing project that I will probably never be 100% happy with so it’s finally time to embrace the imperfections and start acting on the plans and aspirations I have for it.
As we embrace the new year and make way for new beginnings, so too will MMT – with a refreshed outlook (again) and a bit of a facelift, having opted for a much cleaner, simpler theme that lets the content speak for itself.
Finally, rather than list out my own personal resolutions for 2015, I’ve gathered my favourite quotes and inspirational mantras (thanks Pinterest) that I hope will guide me throughout the year ahead and perhaps strike a cord with others.
Learn & grow
Happy New Year everyone! Bring on 2015.
