There’s nothing better than pre-work coffee with gal pals and The Gettin’ Place on James Street is, as the name would suggest, just the place to get together. With art by Australian artists on the walls (currently on display are the pop-culture inspired portraits by Lisa Dottore) and a quaint courtyard garden out back, The Gettin’ Place is an adorable coffee nook where friends and family (dogs included) can enjoy simple, fresh and tasty food in good company.
A few weeks ago Jessalyn and I caught up over breakfast to download on all things life, aspirations and current goings – I devoured the porridge special with banana and walnuts (lurrve ma porridge) and she the Frog in a hole – a cheesy, garlic-buttered slice of sourdough with fried egg served with bacon, greens and tomato relish. Of course it was all washed down with a cup of Toby’s Estate coffee.
With the weather getting cooler in Brisbane it was also an excuse to bring out the leather and boots and also don my newly acquired Quay Kitti Tort shades. I love the wildly loud tortoise shell pattern and I’m a sucker for anything cats eye at the moment. Good thing the crisper mornings haven’t meant the days are any less sunny. Thanks for the impromptu photo shoot Jessalyn!
